The Isle of Skoo is an arts based social emotional program with music, puppetry, stories and movement to teach coping skills to children ages 4 to 8.
Francine Wheeler is a professional singer, song writer, actor and teaching artist who wrote The Isle of Skoo program for Ben's Lighthouse, a non profit started in honor of her son Ben who loved lighthouses. All of the Skoo teaching artists are multi-talented with backgrounds in musical theater, arts-based educational programs, and with experience teaching and working with many different ages of children.
"Francine has offered several interactive musical and theatrical programs to children at the library. In my 32 years as a children’s librarian, I have worked with many performers, and I can honestly say that Francine ranks among the very best. She is a talented singer, song-writer and actress but most importantly a gifted teacher. I highly recommend the programs offered by Francine and the staff of Ben’s Lighthouse."
