Testimonial

"All of Monica's stories have a deeper meaning and an underlying important message. Each story Monica shared left my students thinking deeper and asking questions that turned into a great conversations and inspiration for writing. Monica's enthusiasm is contagious especially among a room of 4 and 5 year olds! Monica has a way of grabbing the attention of 150 children in one room at one time and keeping them entertained, which is not easy!"

-Maura, Kindergarten Teacher, Toquam, Stamford

Description

Storyteller Monica Peterson weaves tales of winter magic. A joyous way to reinforce literacy standards during the long winter months and a perfect non-sectarian program to celebrate the Christmas/Chanukah holiday season. Students sleigh through the streets of Copenhagen with the Snow Queen, fly through the winter skies with a friendly dragon, and visit a land of children. Even conducted virtually, this is an interactive experience with lots of props and audience participation.

Objectives

Students will listen to stories (including an interpretation of the Hans Christian Anderson classic, "The Snow Queen") that illustrate important character issues. Later students will evaluate the decisions of the characters.
