Teaching Artist Legacy Statement
I see life in colors, shapes and patterns. When i work with a student my job is to help them see the world in a way that will allow them to access and create from an amazing place. How they see the art they create may be different then mine and that is ok its not about seeing it the same as me. Its about helping them to understand and recognize how they see it so they can develop a voice that is unique to them. From this place they can create good and honest work

Description
Using contemporary collage techniques, students explore literacy concepts through visual storytelling, symbolism, and creative interpretation. Working with photographs, drawn imagery, and layered visual elements, students translate ideas from a text, theme, or classroom learning into meaningful artistic choices. The workshop strengthens comprehension and critical thinking by asking students to communicate what they understand through both images and symbols.
