Teaching Artist Legacy Statement

Latina designer with an Ivy League education, with a professional background in Illustration, Watercolor, Fashion, PR, Branding, Sewing, Pattern Drafting, Product Design and Spoken Word. My mission is to weave into my programs whatever area of study is being highlighted. Promoting an immersive and inclusive approach, while celebrating individuality. Making the arts easy, resulting in confidence that comes from exceeding self expectations, while endorsing the importance of community. Self love and confidence are at the center of each program. I focus on empowerment, to lead with empathy, kindness and acceptance of self and others.

We all have an artist within.

Testimonials

"I loved how Ms. Ruales clearly modeled the creation process - twice, actually - and allowed students to begin their painting when they felt ready. She had good time management while still allowing students creative freedom and expression."
- Teacher, Wolfpit Integrated Arts School, Norwalk, CT

"Everyone (students and staff) has been raving about this workshop. Thank you!"
