Teaching Artist Legacy Statement
I am an early childhood education specialist, STEM educator, and multi-award winning singer/songwriter. In the classroom, my goal is to support children to explore learning goals through the medium of singing, instrument playing, composition, lyric creation, and body movement. I have an extensive bag of tricks for engaging students that draws from my experience as a classroom teacher, curriculum designer for Sesame Street, science museum education director, and MA in early childhood education. I aim to create a controlled learning environment that is joyful and spontaneous, where children feel empowered to be creative and try new things.

Testimonials
-Children's Librarian, Middletown, CT.
"We recently brought our 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter to our local library, where we saw Emmy Brockman's performance, the Science Romp. The room was packed with children of all ages, and everyone was having a great time. My kids loved listening to her sing and how interactive her performance was. Her original songs are both creative and catchy, and include an educational message. She is a wonderful entertainer who finds ways to engage both outgoing children and those that are more reserved, like our 3 year old son (he could not resist the bubbles). We cannot wait to take them to see more of her performances."
- Dolly, 5th grade teacher, Hartford, CT.
