Teaching Artist Legacy Statement

At Playful Engineers, we know that kids learn through play - and we construct our play-based engineering programs towards total engagement. As a teaching artist, I facilitate hands-on, play-based, maker space activities, focusing on the kinetic arts - making mechanisms - things that move. And I especially enjoy helping students make ordinary materials do extraordinary things! Tools of the trade include cardboard, paper clips, popsicle sticks, brass fasteners, and pencils, plus dominoes, ping-pong balls, and tracks. Building competence and confidence through problem solving, open-ended exploration, and recognizing the value of failure drive our programs, and I can't wait to work with you!
