Teaching Artist Legacy Statement
Sounds of A&R aims to teach students to explore music by blending tradition with innovation. We emphasize understanding jazz's rich history while encouraging creative reinterpretations. Our approach includes studying diverse genres and cultural influences to expand students' musical palettes. By maintaining the integrity of original compositions, we guide students in adding their unique touch, fostering technical skills and artistic expression. Through this journey, we aim to instill a deep appreciation for music's past and inspire them to contribute to its future.

Testimonials
"Working with April, Randall, and the other members of S.O.A.R was a professional highlight for me. The group instinctively knew how to engage audiences and advance American goodwill in an area of the world that is one of the White House's top foreign policy priorities. Furthermore, they demonstrated superb cultural sensitivity and adaptability to align their set lists with local customs and traditions."
