Testimonial

"Your performance today was absolutely wonderful. Your story, music and rapport with the children were outstanding. In addition to the educational aspect of your performance, we were highly entertained... Every teacher and staff member that has spoken with me since your performance has commented with the same degree of enthusiasm... I am sure we will be contacting you again."
- Nancy K., PTO, Totoket Valley Elementary School, Northford, CT

Description

Using costumes, props and the distinctive music and dance of Ireland, Themselves brings to life the tale of a young 19th century Irish woman who leaves the devastation of the Potato Famine and journeys to America. An Immigrant's Story retells the history of one family as it examines the complex personal, cultural, and political issues involved in the decision to leave one's homeland and adapt to a new environment. This interactive curriculum-based program, adapted for each age group, invites participants to sing along, answer questions, and even try the harp.
