Testimonial
"Aaron came prepared with various graphic organizers and scaffolds to help students express their ideas creatively. The scaffolds allowed students the freedom to write what they wanted, but gave structure to those who needed it. I feel confident that I can replicate some of the teaching Aaron did with my students in future years."

Description
We will use movement and sound to explore what is making us feel trapped, stuck, or un-free. Then we will create spoken word poems describing our true selves, our feelings, or our freedom! Participants will learn how metaphor, memory, and imagination can turn our lives into poetry, and will come away with a personal vision of what liberation looks and feels like. Students may also work together in small groups, creating powerful group spoken word pieces around a common theme.
