Description

Universal Sounds' Digital Music Residency is a multi-session digital music production learning experience. Universal sounds engages students in fun lessons that allow them to immediately create music. Students are inevitably engaged and Universal Sounds begins to explore more in-depth creative, technical and musical ideas as the classes progress. Universal Sounds transforms the classroom into a virtual recording studio along students to create sounds, from inception to fully produced songs.

Objectives

Universal Sound's Digital Music Residency will introduce students to song analysis, helping them identify song sections, instruments and other musical ideas.

Universal Sound's Digital Music Residency offers students the opportunity to create music, digitally, from scratch or by manipulating pre-recorded content such as loops.

Universal Sound's Digital Music Residency generally offers students the opportunity to create at least one deliverable, a sound recording or composition per student.

Universal Sound's Digital Music Residency introduces students to creation of rhythmic, harmonic, and melodic ideas.

Universal Sound's Digital Music Residency gives students a better understanding of the basic functions of most audio and MIDI recording software, which can connect to video and other digital media creation/editing techniques.

3-5 day residency $515 a day

Program Length

4 - 12 one hour sessions

Participants

Maximum 20 participants in most settings. TBD based on client's needs. Classes can be broken up to accommodate.

Technical Specifications

This Program requires clients to have at least 1 computer per 2 students/chairs. The audio would be shared by using client provided headphones and appropriate audio splitters for each computer workstation. Optional MIDI Keyboard or other Hardware MIDI Controller.

Computers should have a working, up to date, software.

Program acceptable software:

For Apple Mac: Apple GarageBand, Apple Logic Pro X, Steinberg Cubase, and Ableton Live.

For Windows PC: LMMS, Steinberg Cubase, Ableton Live.

Apple iOS: GarageBand, Auxy Pro, Maschine or iMaschine2, Medly
