Testimonial

"Having the opportunity to work with AFLCT has been truly beneficial; they've provided unique experiences that have positively impacted our students. Their professional artists are strong role-models who encouraged students to take risks, find their voices, and be confident young people. They assisted in the process of inspiring our students to discover their individual identities and be able to self-assuredly express and share their ideas and opinions."

Description

"Frogs Make Me Hoppy" teaches about frogs, including habitats, songs around the world, survival methods and life cycles. Participants learn how to make their very own puppet and then finally put it to action by learning puppetry techniques for movement! This program allows the students to laugh, sing, hop, create and learn a new movement skills in only 1-3 sessions!

Objectives

I CAN compare and contrast the frogs & toads from around the world.
I CAN make a puppet from everyday objects.
I CAN learn how to use a puppet well.

Pricing Information

Full 2-day program:
$515 for the first class; $145 for each additional class (up to 5 total)

Video

Program Length

3 in-classroom sessions, 45 minutes per session

1) Metamorphoses Puppet Song and Dance followed immediately by storytelling of "Frog Song" by Brenda Z. Guiberson (outdoors or indoors)
2) Puppet-making in classroom (outdoors or indoors)
3) Final Puppetry Techniques Movement workshop (outdoors strongly suggested)

*Note: While sometimes I have only done the puppet-making section for this program, it works best as a 2-day program to include storytelling & puppet-making together for a full 75 minutes first. Then I return for a shorter 30-45 minute program to teach the participants how to use the puppet.

Participants

1-28 students per classroom visit

*This can be done at a larger single outdoor event upon request.

Technical Specifications

Chair for Teaching Artist for Storybook reading.
Tables for students to create their frog puppets.
Open Space for the opening presentation of the workshop with at 10'x10' cleared area for sharing my frog puppet and to maintain proper social distancing.
Open Space is also needed for our final day/workshop, so clearing the desks/tables to create a "dance" space in the classroom makes the space safe for full bodied movements!
