Testimonial

"Having the opportunity to work with AFLCT has been truly beneficial; they've provided unique experiences that have positively impacted our students. Their professional artists are strong role-models who encouraged students to take risks, find their voices, and be confident young people. They assisted in the process of inspiring our students to discover their individual identities and be able to self-assuredly express and share their ideas and opinions."

Description

The mission of the residency is to integrate theatre in our schools' specified curriculum. Theatre Arts Integration reaches many different learning styles, thereby providing a means for all students to improve the understanding of a subject/topic they are learning in school. innerAct Theatre will work with a school (public or private K-12), and their classroom teacher ranging from two weeks to the entire year. At the end of the residency, the classroom teacher will be able to use the new theatre exercises in their classroom.

Objectives

The objective of the residency program is to engage students in a different and creative way of learning. Students will have the opportunity to use their imagination and creativity and apply it to what specific curriculum he/she is learning in class. This program helps promote critical thinking, problem solving, collaborating, and of course creativity.
