Description

Students become acquainted with either a culture or a master artist. In Master Artist there is an emphasis on the artist as a human being and how and why his or her character and personality led to the creation of art. In Passport to Art we explore how, where, why and when art was created in a particular area of the world brings it closer to home.

Susan Striker will bring all necessary materials and take responsibility for cleaning up with the students at the end of the workshops.

Objectives

1. Students will learn about how art represents the lives and times of individual artists and cultures.

2. Students will gain confidence in looking at art and making their own conclusions about its meaning and significance.

3. Students will be able to understand something about a period of time in history simply by looking at a work of art.
