Description
As a healing approach, “mindfulness” helps us tackle the uncertainties and challenges of life with greater mind-body balance that reduces tension and promotes better health outcomes and quality of life. Mindfulness helps us build greater self-awareness and acceptance of the world we live in. These practices reduce stress and promote wellness in our bodies, our minds, and our spirits, as well as with our families and communities. This workshop is ideal for young people. Activities include deep breathing and relaxation techniques, clearing the mind through meditation, reflection, and exploring one’s consciousness and self-awareness.
Objectives
Through this program, students will:
(1) learn effective breathing, relaxation, and meditation practices
(2) achieve greater self-awareness, acceptance, and resilience when dealing with everyday stress
