Testimonial
Having the opportunity to work with AFLCT has been truly beneficial; they've provided unique experiences that have positively impacted our students. Their professional artists are strong role-models who encouraged students to take risks, find their voices, and be confident young people. They assisted in the process of inspiring our students to discover their individual identities and be able to self-assuredly express and share their ideas and opinions.
Description
Students will be introduced to mindfulness through the children’s book, “Here and Now,” by Julia Denos and Illustrated by, E.B. Goodale. The students will understand the way in which focusing on the present moment can create calmness and celebrate the world around us.
Students will fill in a chart of the PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE. Students will think of one present moment that they will illustrate using pencil and marker. Students will create a composition with the use of color to express a mood. The program will differ across grade levels by the detail and expressive qualities of line and color.
