Description
Billy B. examines “urban ecology” in this funny musical introduction to the interaction of plants, animals, humans, and the environment in metropolitan areas. Nature in the City examines the neighborhood ecosystem through song and dance as Billy encourages his audiences to become stewards of the planet.
Objectives
Students will develop an awareness of the natural elements in urban areas as they delve into the components of their own habitat. A sense of stewardship for urban green spaces and waterways will be fostered.
Students will enjoy learning about scientific concepts such as biological indicators, invertebrate life cycles and more while participating in activities like animal sound imitation and hip hop dance routines.

Technical Specifications
Billy brings his own sound system, theatrical backdrop and the necessary support system. If the electrical source is too far from the performance location the host will need to supply an extension cord. Also, a person who is familiar with the stage lighting system should be available.
For virtual shows, using the zoom platform, one to two teachers/administrators should be available to be "co-hosts".
