Testimonial

Having the opportunity to work with AFLCT has been truly beneficial; they've provided unique experiences that have positively impacted our students. Their professional artists are strong role-models who encouraged students to take risks, find their voices, and be confident young people. They assisted in the process of inspiring our students to discover their individual identities and be able to self-assuredly express and share their ideas and opinions.

Description

Quill'n & Spill'n is a workshop designed to instruct and support students through the process of creative writing and performance. The "Quill'n" portion consists of writing thoughts, feeling, and/or experience through different forms of poetry. The "Spill'n" portion will give participants the opportunity to share their newly created pieces with their peers.

Objectives

Poetry can have a positive impact on participant's social and emotional learning and it may offer them new ways of thinking. This program will teach participants how to think and write creatively using their own experiences as content for the writing.
