Testimonial
"Next time Grumbling Gryphons, a theatre company for children of all ages, is in your area, run to see them. I smiled through the entire performance of Anansi the Trickster Spider at the Mill River Carousel pavilion in Stamford, CT, February 10. The energy, imagination, costumes and acting dazzled and engaged the entire audience. Actress Leslie Elias is the multi-talented co-founder and artistic director of Grumbling Gryphons."

Description
We offer outstanding interactive performances based on folktales incorporating live music, marvelous masks and audience participation. Anansi, The Trickster Spider: A West African Folktale and Trickster Tales: Native American Animal Legends fully engage children and get them up on their feet-singing, dancing, acting and becoming part of the performance. Both of these productions have been performed all over the United States, from outdoors at Lincoln Center to The American Museum of Natural History in NYC to schools and festivals from coast to coast.
Objectives
Our dramatic productions are designed with multiple objectives for participants.
One: To fully involve our participants through the careful art of time tested audience participation. The main goal is to get our audience & workshop participants fully and actively engaged through movement, song, rhythm, dramatic chants and spontaneous improvisation.
Two: To expose students to stories from other cultures and learn about that culture through participatory storytelling.
Three: To improve on literacy skills through student's engagement in learning new vocabulary, words, phrases and songs from other cultures as well as sign language.
Four: To awaken curiosity, interest and appreciation in expanding their world view and learning about others.
