Testimonial

"Having the opportunity to work with AFLCT has been truly beneficial; they've provided unique experiences that have positively impacted our students. Their professional artists are strong role-models who encouraged students to take risks, find their voices, and be confident young people. They assisted in the process of inspiring our students to discover their individual identities and be able to self-assuredly express and share their ideas and opinions."

Description

The Game is an interactive, conceptual and experiential work of art that has evolved into an effective communication, educational and training tool which utilizes the power of imaginative play to facilitate the creative process.

The Game is central to a series of workshops based on a growing body of research that values "play" as an ideal context for learning and overall human development.

Gerald leads students through a series of prompts using 3D acrylic shapes as they create their own neighborhoods and cities complete with characters and imaginative stories. Students play with these shapes and characters to develop full narratives surrounding their placement choices of the objects. The workshops allow participants to engage directly in the creative process and by doing so, develop a wide range of higher ordered thinking skills in an easy and enjoyable manner.
