Testimonial

"Having the opportunity to work with AFLCT has been truly beneficial; they've provided unique experiences that have positively impacted our students. Their professional artists are strong role-models who encouraged students to take risks, find their voices, and be confident young people. They assisted in the process of inspiring our students to discover their individual identities and be able to self-assuredly express and share their ideas and opinions."

Description

It seems that crocodile is most content being the sole owner of all the world's fire. He has no intention of sharing it with the other animals. The fire, which he holds captive in his belly, keeps him warm throughout the night and makes his soup hot and tasty.
AND NO, this fire?
HE WILL NOT SHARE!

In the telling of Crocodile's Fire, students see themselves in the age old story of greed. It's frustrating, it's real, but if one were to use intellect and resources, there may be a way turn the tables on greed and find justice.

Objectives

Students identify similarities between story, characters, and emotions in a drama to personal experience. 'My brother won't share his toys. It makes me sad.'

Students might simply describe characters or compare personal emotions and choices to the emotions and choices of characters. 'Ms. Fox thought of a good plan. She's smart. I am too!'

As the story (drama experience) unfolds, the young listeners (budding actors) contribute to the story either through their voice or their body. Participants chant 'Crocodile, crocodile, cry cry cry!'
