Description

Weaving workshop begins with a lesson from a spider and moves from simple paper weaving to weaving with yarn on a loom, dreamcatchers, Ojo de Dios and weaving in the round.

Susan Striker will bring all books, visual aids and materials with her to the venue. Art supplies, such as yarn, looms, and scissors are included in the materials fee.

Objectives

1) Students will learn a basic skill that is found in nature as well as in all cultures throughout history and in every corner of the world.

2) Students will understand art concepts including parallel lines, horizontal, vertical, patterns

3) Students will learn to contrast, compare and appreciate the value of handmade and machine-made textiles

Pricing Information

$480 for a single workshop
$765 for back to back workshops

$1,433 for 1 day (4 workshops, 90 minutes per workshop)
$3,825 for 3 days (4 workshops, 90 minutes per workshop)
$5,535 for 5 days (4 workshops, 90 minutes per workshop)

There is an additional $2.00 per child materials fee.

Program Length

Approximately 15 sessions, all of which can be re-arranged to suit the format of the venue and the length of the required program. I can just do a single workshop on an area of interest, such as dreamcatchers, and adjust the curriculum to meet the interest level and weaving experience of the students.

Participants

Approximately 20 in a live class, more in virtual format.
