Testimonial
Having the opportunity to work with AFLCT has been truly beneficial; they've provided unique experiences that have positively impacted our students. Their professional artists are strong role-models who encouraged students to take risks, find their voices, and be confident young people. They assisted in the process of inspiring our students to discover their individual identities and be able to self-assuredly express and share their ideas and opinions.
Description
From the earliest cave paintings to modern day, horses remain a popular subject for art. Inspired by Dr. Seuss’s Horse Museum book (which highlights famous horse artworks by diverse artists), horse videos, photos and models, students will be encouraged to explore their personal style and interpretation of the horse in visual and written art. A variety of media options will be available including collage, drawing, painting, poetry, or sculpture.
Horses are social animals who organize in herds that recognize the unique strengths and gifts of each member of the herd. Students will learn about horse behavior and their unique approach to shared leadership. After completing their work of horse art, each student will label their artistic creation with a strength they share with their horse and that they are offering to their classroom community herd.
