Testimonial
"We hired Galush for our regional fourth-grade arts day. What was wonderful was how they were able to involve the students in the music making process. Kids loved it!"

Description
In this program students will build self-confidence and effective communication skills while having fun in a collaborative, creative music project. Our professional artist educators bring together student beatboxing, writing, and storytelling skills with contemporary live recording technology to leave students amazed by the power of their own voices to create music. We lead students through the entire creative process of songwriting bolstered by culturally relevant historical lessons. Central to this program is its ability to incorporate other curricula, which students draw on for their songwriting inspiration.
Objectives
Students will learn to perform the three basic sounds of beatboxing, aka the "P, t, and K" or Kick, High Hat, and Snare Drums, with historical context from Hip Hop.
Students will learn the various sonic and lyrical structures that they will encounter during the songwriting process.
Students will integrate existing curriculum and vocabulary into a finished group product, a song written, recorded, and performed with entirely student voices.
