Description

This program is a high-energy, multi-day breakdance intensive designed to engage students through movement, creativity, and STEM-based learning. Rooted in hip-hop culture and breaking fundamentals, the experience introduces students to the foundations of breakdance while connecting movement to real-world concepts such as physics, rhythm, balance, coordination, and body mechanics.

Each session is structured to be interactive, accessible, and adaptable to different grade levels and experience levels. Students are guided through foundational elements of breaking including toprock, footwork, freezes, and introductory power movements. Each concept is broken down in a way that is easy to understand, allowing students of all backgrounds to participate confidently while building both physical and creative skills.

A core element of the program is its integration of STEM education through movement. Students explore how concepts like momentum, gravity, torque, symmetry, timing, and patterns are directly applied in dance. By experiencing these ideas physically, students gain a deeper understanding of how science and math exist in real-world motion and creativity. This hands-on approach encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and body awareness in an engaging and memorable way.

Beyond technical dance training, the program emphasizes discipline, teamwork, confidence-building, and self-expression. Students are encouraged to explore their individuality while learning how to work collaboratively in group settings. The goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where students feel empowered to take risks, learn new skills, and grow both artistically and personally.

The program can be adapted as a 3 to 5 day intensive depending on school needs and scheduling. Each day builds progressively, allowing students to develop skills step-by-step while reinforcing key concepts through repetition and practice. Sessions can also be tailored to different grade levels or split into multiple groups per day when needed.

The instructor is an international breakdance artist and educator with professional experience across Europe, Canada, Mexico, and Vietnam, as well as performance experience with the Brooklyn Nets. This global background brings a unique cultural and professional perspective into every workshop, blending street dance foundations with structured educational delivery.

The program can also include a final demonstration or performance component if desired, featuring the instructor and a team of dancers, offering students a live example of breaking culture at a professional level. This adds an inspiring visual experience that connects directly back to what students learn throughout the program.

Overall, this intensive is designed to bridge culture, education, and physical movement in a way that is engaging, accessible, and impactful for students. It provides a meaningful introduction to breakdance while reinforcing academic concepts through embodied learning, making it both an artistic and educational experience.
