Testimonial

Having the opportunity to work with AFLCT has been truly beneficial; they've provided unique experiences that have positively impacted our students. Their professional artists are strong role-models who encouraged students to take risks, find their voices, and be confident young people. They assisted in the process of inspiring our students to discover their individual identities and be able to self-assuredly express and share their ideas and opinions.

Description

Are you looking for something that builds confidence, enhances creativity, and teaches a valuable skill? Darren Sardelli’s BUILD-A-POEM WORKSHOP does all this and more! Students learn how to paint pictures with words, make writing more descriptive, and write poetry that stands out. Darren combines everyone's ideas and writes a fun poem with his audience. After their poem is complete, students either illustrate the poem they wrote or write poems of their own. This workshop shows students how to put ideas in motion and gives them the tools they need to feel good about writing poetry.

Workshops consist of 2-3 classes.

Objectives

1. Students learn how to structure and write a poem.

2. Students learn how to spice up writing with creativity, imagination, and artistic expression.
