Testimonial
Having the opportunity to work with AFLCT has been truly beneficial; they've provided unique experiences that have positively impacted our students. Their professional artists are strong role-models who encouraged students to take risks, find their voices, and be confident young people. They assisted in the process of inspiring our students to discover their individual identities and be able to self-assuredly express and share their ideas and opinions.
Description
The Mysterious Art Society is a part creativity lab, part treasure hunt, and part random acts of kindness project, engaging schools or communities in creating, sharing, and discovering art. The Mysterious Art Society provides an opportunity to offer support, encouragement and kindness to another classroom, to the local community, or to another community or school. Mysterious Art Society events are easy to design around a specific theme that is relevant the group or classroom.
A variety of nontraditional media and techniques are offered to engage all students in creating art, including junk mail poetry, scatter/splatter painting with marbles, ink staining and collage. Each person has the opportunity to create stunning works of art.
Students may collaborate on creations as well either by designing them together from the start or by making a piece of art that they offer to their classmates for modification or adaptation into another piece of art.
Art may be hidden for people to find (such as on school grounds) or it may be sent to the intended recipients (such as a package of art sent to another school). Either way, the recipients will be delighted by their surprise art!
