Testimonial

"We hired Galush for our regional fourth-grade arts day. What was wonderful was how they were able to involve the students in the music making process. Kids loved it!"

-David Poirier, Music Dept. Chair, Kent Center School

Description

Ideal for school assemblies, the Galush performance option showcases a setlist of original music and popular remixes, recorded and performed live all with the voice. An engaging stage and music production pairing professional level beatboxing with performance technology, inspired by an international community of artists, educators, and advocates, their live show covers a full spectrum of heartfelt and introspective songwriting delivered with dazzling vocal virtuosity. As deeply influenced by Rock, Pop and Hiphop pioneers as they are the sound of modern EDM, Galush takes the audience on a journey from the raw human voice to crowd pleasing anthems that will have everyone up and moving.

As scores of private, classroom, and workshop residency students have already learned, beatboxing and music technology hold a staggering potential to advance accessible learning and joyful music making across the globe. By exposing students to new creative horizons as they emerge in a digital generation, every Galush performance aims to empower student musicians to explore the creative potential of their voice through a live music experience they can perform themselves before the show is even over!

Objectives

Delivering more than an unforgettable performance experience, Galush will have student (and teacher!) voices woven into the show via live recording and music production techniques. Students will have the opportunity to get up on stage and shape a communal creative process in a number of ways, from recording their own and playing back audio samples to interfacing via multiple MIDI controls with the digital effects shaping the sonic landscape we will explore together.
