Teaching Artist Legacy Statement
I encourage self expression through painting and poetry. We tell stories, explore topics of social justice, environmental justice, personal history and internal reflection. Students learn the importance of preserving historical places in their communities. Reflection and sharing are encouraged developmental skills.

Description
Students will use visual art to create stories of culture and history. The work can be tied into the lessons Shanna has certifications and served an ambassadorship for including Kingian Nonviolence and the history of Little Liberia through The Mary & Eliza Center for History and Community. She studies textiles and patterns through her art for cultural art lessons.
