Teaching Artist Legacy Statement

Through poetry and storytelling, I guide my students in exploring their own narratives, helping them to articulate their experiences, dreams, and emotions. I encourage my students to cultivate a mindset of self-acceptance and empowerment. This holistic approach not only enhances their artistic skills but also fosters emotional well-being and self-awareness. I strive to create a space where creativity flourishes and individuals feel free to express themselves authentically.

Description

Use interactive storytelling where students participate in creating or continuing a story. For example, start a story about a historical event or a scientific discovery and have students add their own chapters or poems.
