Description
The critically acclaimed RapOetry Workshop is customized to suit your (teacher/curator/host/principal) needs, and the number of students participating. This residency is usually booked for 2 to 4 dates per class.
During creation of a collaborative performance piece (in the genre of Rap/Hip- Hop/Spoken Word poetry), students increase awareness of how rhythm (order, tempo, and repetition) is used to enhance poetry, music, and even communication between students and teachers.
Residencies may begin and/or end with a live performance featuring the RapOet's band, dancers, and graffiti shirts that each student can take home.

No limit, however school there should be staff/assistants/parents/volunteers available so that there is about 1 adult present per each 12 students to assist with photographing, videotaping, and of course... participating in fun activities!
The RapOetry Workshop has opportunities for caregivers/parents/guardians to be involved as audience members during Solo and Live Band performances.
If you do not have enough adults available, the RapOet will provide additional assistants (according to your needs and budget).
Note that programming is usually arranged so that performances are done in a large group, and then we break out into smaller groups for the learning activities (according grade, skill level, etc.)

Depending on the duration and scope of workshop the Rapoet MAY request
Smartboard with sound (or speakers for the Artist’s laptop), paper and pens/crayons for each student, ability to connect a USB drive to the computer with Smartboard.
