Testimonial
When Alana taught a 1st grade class at Conte West Hills School in May, after the class, a little 1st grade girl named Autumn went out of her way to hug her and say that she would miss her. This was a testament to how the lesson went!
Description
Students will use watercolor paint pallets to create their own self-portraits! This is a great lesson to help us get to know one another and to help students get to know themselves. The self-portraits start as busts but students can customize them as they'd like. Some students simply want their portraits to look like their physical selves. However, lots of students end up with star eyes, green hair, or imaginary braces! This lesson is a fun way for students to learn (or re-learn) a new art medium while doing some exploration.
