Testimonial

“Thank you for your insight, awareness, and passion for your work.”

-Elaine Hall, author of “Seven Keys to Unlock Autism” and founder of 'The Miracle Project’.

Description

"Sensory-friendly / Relaxed Drumming" is a joyous, hands-on music experience for neurodivergent groups.

Melodic drumming with participatory, repetitive rhythm patterns and captivating lyrics can augment:

* Joyful movement and dance
* Personal regulation
* Communication
* Socialization
* Family engagement
* Trust
* Gross and fine motor skills
* Synapse connections

To maintain sensory-friendly sound, there are no drum sticks or metallic instruments.

Bob's array of curious, colorful, and accessible percussion instruments provide vibrotactile stimulation for the participants.

To create whole-body sensations, he brings gossamer canopies that are raised and lowered overhead to motivate participants' dancing and movement along with colorful scarves.

Autistic individuals' enthusiasms for music, vocalizing, and visual arts encouraged and integrated with the presentation.

Adult family members are welcome to attend and to participate. They take away practical skills to create repeatable musical activities at home and in their community.

Participants are welcome to move around and to bring food.

Objectives

Neurodivergent individuals will take away positive socializing skills, and to take part comfortably in group activities.
