Teaching Artist Legacy Statement
I see life in colors, shapes and patterns. When i work with a student my job is to help them see the world in a way that will allow them to access and create from an amazing place. How they see the art they create may be different then mine and that is ok its not about seeing it the same as me. Its about helping them to understand and recognize how they see it so they can develop a voice that is unique to them. From this place they can create good and honest work

Using contemporary collage, students explore social studies through visual storytelling and symbolism. Inspired by a historical or cultural topic, students layer photographs, drawings, and symbols to interpret people, places, events, and ideas through art.
